ABSTRACT

I am pleased to have been invited to comment on Michael Jacobs’ paper since it allows me to echo the warmth of his response to Jane Ryan’s work and add my own tribute. Although I had no part in writing ‘Dark City’, for a too brief period she and I were co-authors. And responding also gives me the chance to celebrate the fertility of recently published Jungian film theory, some developments in which Jane might have wanted to explore in her own film analysis had she lived.
