ABSTRACT

The following was conceived in response to a revival of interest in contemporary feminist art and the histories of feminist politics in the art world. Jo Anna Isaak assesses some of the recent exhibitions held in the United States and Europe, provides a brief history of her own curatorial activity, and then introduces two Italian curators, Gaia Cianfanelli and Caterina Iaquinta, who discuss their curatorial organization START and their 2006 exhibition Dissertare/Disertare in the context of the feminist movement in Italy. 1
