ABSTRACT
In its relation to criminality, madness inevitably leads to the question of criminal responsibility. For a long time, there has been only one alternative: psychiatric hospital or prison. Does this disjunction account for what we know and what we have shown of the complexity of these psychotic subjects? Is it still relevant today in light of what a biography elucidated by psychoanalysis can be?
