ABSTRACT

What are the conditions of possibility where the frailties of old people would matter? What sort of a world would we inhabit where such frailties could make a difference in decisions that were made about how our lives work and how we would agree that resources ought to be distributed? These questions have formed a foundation from which the ideas presented in this chapter have developed. They were questions raised by Christine Ceci as she planned a meeting of researchers with interests in home-based care for older adults.
