ABSTRACT
Comparisons between European and North American sport leagues have occurred over the years. Rather than list the entire literature, we refer the reader to the overviews in Fort (2000), Barros, Ibrahimo, and Szymanski (2002), Fort and Fizel (2004), and Sandy, Sloane, and Rosentraub (2004). The topics have ranged from fan differences across countries, to organizational and business model comparisons, to objective functions of team management, to competitive balance.
