ABSTRACT
In this paper a leading American psychologist expounds his views on one of the most important aspects of human learning. In the course of the discussion he considers some of the problems created by conflicting connotations of the word concept and suggests a method of resolving the difficulty. In his suggestions he puts forward his views on the learning of principles which provide an extremely useful and convincing model of school learning.
