ABSTRACT
This paper differs from the others in this section in that it deals with aesthetics. Undoubtedly conceptual learning plays an important part in the aesthetic appreciation of music but affective factors also operate. The author explores the relationships between affective and cognitive factors in musical appreciation and discusses the place of other skills.
