ABSTRACT
Science has direct impacts, every day, on all aspects of our lives. On our personal lives: how we strive to remain fed, warm, and healthy for as long as possible. On our social lives: how we physically move from place to place, relate to, and communicate with our fellow humans. On our economic lives: how we are able to acquire the resources to remain fed warm and healthy. In short, science and technology have become major cultural institutions for humanity.
