ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of how high-risk offenders with mental disorders are managed in Scotland via the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and assesses some of the challenges that have occurred in putting this approach into practice. Parts of this chapter have appeared in the Forensic Network Expert Group report (Forensic Network 2007) and although many sections originally authored by John Crichton are drawn upon, they were honed by the other members of the group and by consultation.
