ABSTRACT
Microfinance has been viewed as an important tool in poverty alleviation. However, Islamic finance, which has always envisioned a role for itself in development activity, has been strangely absent from the microfinance sector and microfinance debates. 3 This chapter examines the scope for cooperation between Islamic finance and microfinance.
