Death involves loss. With one’s own death comes the loss of one’s self, and with the death of a loved one comes the loss of other. The loss of self or other is one of the most significant trials that a human faces, and often requires one to draw upon spiritual resources in the effort to make sense of the experience. was the life worth? Did it have meaning for oneself or others? Was it a good and satisfying life? Was the self or person valued or valuable?
