ABSTRACT
A theme of convergences and divergences is the one we use in section 3 to integrate and summarize the chapters of this book. The perspectives we have discussed share key elements but also have important diἀerences. Some perspectives include detailed descriptions of the methods they use as Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA). Others do not, but they have important points of convergence that have informed and shaped the way CTA methods are used. Some perspectives define themselves in terms of what they are not-the ideas and perspectives they are reacting against. Some perspectives naturally resonate with others, to the extent of “discovering” similar ideas and methods. Other perspectives seem more like oil and water.
