ABSTRACT

By training, I am an educational psychologist. I was taught to listen, help people understand their own and another’s perspective, and help them unravel semantic entanglements. I helped people understand the choices they were making and the consequences they were likely to experience. I helped people look at situations from another’s viewpoint, put themselves in another’s shoes, and figure out ways to communicate so the recipient could/would hear the intended message. These skills have been an asset to me in my work in three very different industries: education, financial services, and the media.
