ABSTRACT
Research on small groups has gotten out of hand! The rate of production of small group studies has increased tremendously in recent decades. At the same time, the rate at which empirical results have been adequately digested and integrated into theoretical formulations has not kept pace. If we continue to generate studies at even the present rate, without a major “leap forward” in terms of integrative theory, we shall drown in our own data.
