ABSTRACT

What if politicians, despite their differences, have to make decisions on combating organized crime? What if police departments introduce community policing but face the community with their back to Europe? What if European countries face each other but have their backs towards Europol or Interpol? What if organized crime does not stop at national boundaries but police do? Is it not time to learn from daily operational policing knowledge? Is it not time to take Europol and Interpol seriously as strategic partners? Is it not time to change laws and rules, to melt cultures, to meet among politicians and find ways to make police in Europe work together?
