ABSTRACT

Since the introduction of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2010 initiative, the overall health of Americans has improved significantly. However, not all populations have benefited equally from these improvements. Men of Color in the United States continue to experience significant health disparities relative to their White counterparts. These disparities include access to care, unequal treatment, language barriers, lack of diversity among health care staff and providers, and low levels of health education and knowledge (Gornick, 2000).
