ABSTRACT

It ticked all the boxes! They were teaching the same year group; the mother in a large inner city school, the daughter in rural East Anglia. What could be easier than starting a school partnership? The children were excited, the link developing well, and the daughter spent an evening putting up a display about her class's new friends. Next morning, as her pupils came in, she was horrified to hear the comment ‘Look, we've got a picture of the poor children that we sent our harvest gifts to!’
