ABSTRACT
Educationalists are finding that the growth in plurality and pluralism in society is reflected in classrooms and schools, which are increasingly multi-cultural, multi-faith, multi-ethnic amongst other markers, which denote the multiplicity of the identities of learners. Education must equip pupils for the challenge of questioning and developing an understanding of their own and others’ identities in environments that are changing and evolving.
