ABSTRACT
We were asked to introduce this new edition with an update about changes in this field. Among the most significant has been the death of the original first author of this chapter, William N. Friedrich. Bill was one of the pioneers in the assessment and treatment of all forms of child maltreatment, especially child sexual abuse, and he is greatly missed.
