ABSTRACT

Discussion of this problem will be postponed until the end of this chapter. We shall start the discussion of the issues that arise in the use of the three weapons on the assumption that, for one reason or another, it is necessary to aim each weapon separately at one and only one target. We do this simply because it appears to be the best way to describe and to analyse the basic problems that underlie any attempts to achieve simultaneous success with all three desiderata - control of money incomes, of the balance of payments and of the investment ratio.
