ABSTRACT

In his overview, Kennedy provides insight into modern interpretations of Adam Smith. With encyclopedic ability Kennedy highlights the most pertinent debates, and does not shy away from expounding his own conclusions. He starts with a brief background of Smith's life before turning to The Theory of Moral Sentiments . Kennedy then gives a chapter to main points in Smith, from the division of labor and the invisible hand, to his take on mercantilist policies and the labor theory of value.
