There may be agreement internationally that the quality of the teaching is a critical element in 21st-Century learning, but there is a wide range of views about how to develop it. This collection of chapters includes countries large and small, from Asia, the Americas, and Europe, with distinctive cultures, and, more importantly, with some major differences in the commitments they are willing to make to support high-quality preparation for teachers.
