ABSTRACT

At any given postsecondary institution there are several different categories of employees. Most institutions categorize full-time employees as faculty or staff. The latter may be administrative, professional, or support staff. Regardless of their category, all employees are expected to contribute in some way to student success as well as to the overall mission of the institution. As a result, effectively managing human resources in 21stcentury colleges and universities is a challenging and complex endeavor.
