ABSTRACT

Cambourne, 2003; Quan & Wang, 2004). Collectively these encompass much that is to be said about food and tourism but, and perhaps surprisingly, little attention is given to the effect of "food scares" on demand. Possibly this is because such scares tend to be localised, of short-term duration and gained limited media coverage. However, the latter is arguably changing as we all become more and more a part of a global community. There is growing widespread interest in health and food production issues, for example, organic farming, genetically modified crops.
