ABSTRACT

Resources for Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) are one of the newest formats that librarians are beginning to integrate into library collections. How does a library integrate service and collection development models for PDA users into its existing services? What are the issues faced when attempting to license content that is PDA compatible? How are PDA-accessible resources selected, catalogued and stored when some are the size of a postage stamp? How do librarians integrate existing collections into a PDA-accessible user-service model? This paper presents the issues that need to be considered for the development of an integrated academic library collections program that supports users of Personal Digital Assistants.
