Teaching, Learning and Information Literacy: Developing an Understanding of Pre-Service

Information literacy is one of the educational buzzwords for this new millennium. As educators, we want our students to be able to locate, evaluate, synthesize, and use information from a variety of sources to answer all types of questions. As teacher educators, our challenge is to prepare teachers to teach the skills, strategies and attitudes that are part of information literacy. Education librarians can have an important role in the information literacy education of pre-service teachers as well.
