ABSTRACT

Being a therapist to prominent individuals is a privilege, but not all glamour. This counseling practice has its own set of challenges and complexities, especially in couples counseling, when one partner is a celebrity or in a high-profile position and is accustomed to being idolized, catered to, and in professional control, while the other partner is less prominent. Helping clients learn to recognize and understand the purpose behind controlling and dominating behavior is an important first step in the counseling journey.
