ABSTRACT

This case would be appropriate for undergraduate and graduate-level classes in tourism, conservation, biology, environmental design, ethics, environmental planning, political science, and outdoor or adventure programs. It presents the difficult issues that must be addressed in order to reach a sustainable solution regarding endangered species and biodiversity. It also helps students to understand human relationships with the rest of the world, especially animals. Students are encouraged to identify personal values and to use them to assess whether CAMPFIRE is sustainable; therefore, solutions may vary widely depending upon the value set of individual students.
