ABSTRACT
There are some who say that this current global financial recession, this recession stroke depression that is being felt in London and New York, in Madrid and Athens, will not impact upon the nature of capitalism. They say that we have been here before—faced and navigated our way through economic downturns—and that capitalism emerged unscathed. And they go on to say that five years from now capitalism will basically look as it did before the economic crisis began.
