ABSTRACT
On a warm summer evening, a women’s discussion group was underway at a senior community center in northern California. At this particular meeting, one longtime participant, Jerry, a short, white-haired woman in her seventies, made an announcement to the group. “After years of work, I just sent off my book manuscript … it is about my sexual relationship with a younger man, and the importance of society recognizing senior women and our sensuality.” The room erupted in cheers. Afterwards, several women approached Jerry, wanting to share stories about their own sexual experiences and to hear more about hers.
