ABSTRACT
Education is a powerful tool for individual transformation as well as socioeconomic development of a country. In this context, the role of the school is especially important in preparing youth for the challenges of tomorrow. Although the effectiveness of schools in discharging their responsibilities hinges tremendously on the quality of their teaching workforce as well as their top echelon leadership, it is the competitiveness and relevance of a country’s education system that sets the framework for their efforts to be translated into both tangible and intangible benefits for the students.
