ABSTRACT
A critical facet of reclaiming reading is reclaiming the rich language transactions that occur in critical literacy classrooms when we open the floor to children’s voices and experiences. Reclaiming language is further enriched when multiple languages are welcomed into the classroom (see the chapter by Freeman et al. and its extension, this volume).
