ABSTRACT
A common theme of the chapters in this book is that creativity and innovation are not identical, and that innovation does not necessarily stem from creativity. That is, creativity alone does not necessarily produce innovation, and innovation does not necessarily depend on creativity. Innovation flows from the systems that direct and discipline creativity towards defined practical goals. Another theme in this book is that individuals do not innovate in isolation—they collaborate and draw upon externally generated resources. Nor does creativity itself take place in isolation.
