ABSTRACT
The environment and more specifically, its relation to energy use and generation are nowadays at the center of debate in the world. This debate usually focuses on the finding alternative “green” sources of energy. However, little attention has been paid to how the differences among the countries, in terms of productive structure, price policies, tax policies, and land size can affect the success of the proposed policies. The purpose of this chapter is to shed some light on this debate.
