ABSTRACT
Billions of people in the world today live in conditions of appalling material deprivation. Political philosophers who have considered the unimaginable plight of the world’s desperately poor populations join in condemning this state of affairs as morally scandalous. They all agree that we ought to do much more than we presently do to alleviate their suffering.
