ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on school politics in the intergovernmental system, urban district governance reform, and the new politics of innovation and accountability. Analytically, for each of these topics, we provide the research context for the current debate and try to specify relevant lessons learned from the appropriate body of work. Taken as a whole, this chapter offers the analytical foundation for students who are interested in the politics of urban schools.
