ABSTRACT
Peter MacNeilage and Barbara Davis have promoted a longstanding companion
program for grounding developmentally-then phylogenetically-speech motor
control within the Frame/Content Theory (FCT, MacNeilage, 1998). Like many
other researchers who discussed and supported FCT with data from their own
field and ambient language, we are deeply indebted to this impetus for French
baby studies and potential for links with primatology (Abry & Schwartz, J. L.,
2004, Abry et al., 2004).
