ABSTRACT
In recent history, the Arab world has been subjected to various dominating and perturbing forces from without and from within its territory. Imperialist powers have controlled its fate for years. Imperialist policies during that period concentrated on collaborating with political elites, while the mass of the population was either exploited or left unaccounted for in both social and economic policies.
