ABSTRACT
In every age there are certain people who are recognized for their signifi cant contributions. Th ese individuals fall into Emerson’s phrase of a “Representative Man.” Th is group of select people is what the Germans call the spirit of their age, or Zeitgeist. In such personalities, a clear expression of their aspirations stirs the hearts of thousands.
