ABSTRACT

The present study concerns a Fulani * agro-pastoral population in the Seno-Mango (see Figure 1 and Figure 12.1). From the outset, the population was divided into two groups; Rimaibe and Fulbe. This division was thought necessary as variations in agricultural and herding practices, in type of settlement, in ethnic origin and in the economic and social effects of past history could result in significant differences in nutrition and health status. Both groups however, live in the same zone, speak the same language and have numerous economic and social ties. The total size of the sample was 373 people distributed as shown in Table 12.1.
