A Demographic Profile of the Fulani of Central Mali With Special Emphasis on Infant and Child Mortality

In this chapter, both the household survey data and information from maternity histories collected during the 1981–2 round of demographic surveys in Mali are used to describe the levels and group differentials of Fulani child mortality. Some broad comparisons between the Fulani and the other groups surveyed have been presented in Chapter 2 and details of the zones and samples interviewed during the Fulani survey appear in the Introduction to this book.
