ABSTRACT
Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD) represent a growing crisis among older adults, their families, and the health care system. The number of people with ADRD is rapidly increasing as more individuals reach older adulthood and live longer (Alzheimer’s Association, 2009; National Institute on Aging (NIA), 2008). With a definitive cause of and cure for ADRD still unknown, despite great research advances, there is fear that this condition could bankrupt the health care system.
