ABSTRACT

This chapter picks up a theme which has already been touched on in various chapters, that is interprofessional or multi-agency working. As has been already stated, social workers increasingly work with other professional groups and in settings where they are in a professional minority. This inevitably brings tension, value differences and, sometimes, ethical dilemmas. It also, however, brings the possibility of learning from each other and working to provide the best possible support to, and with, service users. The selected extract is set in the context of England and Wales policy and legislation, but the models which Audrey Leathard introduces are applicable anywhere.
