ABSTRACT
Introduction This chapter discusses current approaches to RE in the primary phase and aims to identify what makes good RE. Drawing on educational principles it will analyse the strengths and scope of the subject and clarify what constitutes good educational provision for religious education and how students and teachers can contribute to this.
