After a quadrupling of crude oil price since 1973, the OPEC nations have not been, literally, the developing countries but the rich countries. OPEC nations are now the donor countries of financial resources to the developing countries; in view of this, economic co-operation between Japan and the OPEC nations should be at an appropriately high level.
