ABSTRACT

Meditative practices include mindfulness meditation (MM) and mantra meditation. Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong, which involve bodily movement and concentration on the breath, are also considered meditative practices (Ospina et al., 2007). Meditative practices typically take place in a quiet location, involve use of particular postures, and require an open, nonjudgmental attitude (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2007).
