ABSTRACT
Non-profi t organisations in general and congregations in particular contribute to the quality of life of local people. Numerous qualitative testimonies attest to the positive transformation these organisations support. Yet these many externalities1 are often presented in qualitative ways that do not show the total contribution of these organisations. The non-profi t fi eld has struggled with how to quantify its positive externalities and much good work goes unaccounted for.
