ABSTRACT
Once you have completed your research report, there are various additional tasks to be considered before moving on. First, if you have just fi nished an academic thesis then you may face an examination by oral presentation (see Box 18.1). Second, you may need to report back to funders or collaborators and participants (see Section 18.2). In addition, the research may merit disseminating to a wider audience (see Section 18.3). Conservation is an advocacy discipline and the purpose of research should be not only to further academic understanding but also to inform current management and policy (for example, see Nelson and Vucetich, 2009).
