ABSTRACT

Most of the data that the authors gathered were qualitative. They planned and conducted three geographically dispersed focus groups across the United States, with a total of 47 participants. As they themselves note, Creswell (2002) and Krueger (1994) have established the focus group as the best means of examining a subject (in this case, the work being done today in our profession) from the inside out. As with many of the articles selected for this anthology, their methodology section is admirably detailed, explaining not only what they did, but why they chose the techniques they used.
