ABSTRACT
By a modern conception of politics, I understand politics based upon the rigorous axiom of equality. we are dealing, then, not just with any text. Rousseau is the thinker of this modern conception of politics based on equality. This problem of politics requires a solution that is a religious solution for Rousseau, and my first concern is to examine how that religious solution arises.
